Creatively Quarantined

Updated: Jan 21, 2021

As the nation continues to shelter at home in order to flatten the curve for the COVID-19 virus, now is a great time to be creatively quarantined. Many artists and small businesses are using this time to find new ways to earn income. In many cases, it means learning social media and other digital skills you never had time to do before. Well, you now have the time!

The next few blogs will focus on different options to expand ways to reach new and current fans or customers. We’ll explore Facebook streaming, digital tip jars, free video-conferencing options for private and group music or art lessons, and ways to make your website work for you instead of you working for your website.

This blog is focused on digital pay systems as this is the first step in building online sales. The good news? There are a number of proven systems out there that are easy to set-up and use.

SquareUp is a popular system that not only offers simple hardware for onsite sales accepting credit cards, but also offers an easy invoicing by email where the receiver just clicks a button to pay. SquareUp includes easy online invoicing, a digital store, and even digital gift cards. If you have a SquareUp account but have only used the card services, take time to log-on and explore their other options.

PayPal is another popular way to send and receive payments with just an email. PayPal also allows you to easily send invoices or gift cards. GooglePay is another trusted system similar to PayPal as is Venmo

Facebook Messenger now offers a secure way to accept/send payments through messenger either through your PayPal account or credit/debit card. Follow the link to the FB instructions.
